The paintings of Ottone Petrillo, whose photos are published in the virtual

museum, are undoubtedly of very high quality. The same is noticed in the

whole work of the great artist, prematurely passed away at the height of

his activity.

Among the works of the collection I'll mention here, for instance, some

paintings which seem to illustrate very well the ways of the artist, never

repetitive and always passionate: the head of Apollo on the upper left,

which shows an inflamed and seething informal, declined with great,

inimitable personality; the one with a sort of collage of music paper

more restrained, all wisely constructed on the horizontals and the verticals;

the one, refined and of tender sensuality, with the naked woman on her

back, with legs opened towards the spectator; and, finally, the portraits

dedicated to the personality of music, of architecture, of painting, and of

poetry.
