The paintings of Ottone Petrillo, whose photos are
published in the virtual

museum, are undoubtedly of very high quality. The
same is noticed in the
|
|
whole work of the great artist, prematurely passed
away at the height of
|
|
his activity.
|
|
Among the works of the collection I'll mention
here, for instance, some
|
|
paintings which seem to illustrate very well the
ways of the artist, never
|
|
repetitive and always passionate:
the head of Apollo on the upper left,
|
|
which shows an inflamed and seething
informal, declined with great,
|
|
inimitable personality; the one with a
sort of collage of music paper |
|
more restrained, all wisely constructed on the
horizontals and the verticals;
|
|
the one, refined and of tender sensuality, with
the naked woman on her
|
|
back, with legs opened towards the spectator; and,
finally, the portraits
|
|
dedicated to the personality of music, of
architecture, of painting, and of
poetry.
